But now The land of a million elephants Kingdom has about 2000 pachyderms in the whole country, and roughly 1000 of which are wild. One of places where Tiger Trail Travel Company will bring you to watch the wild elephants in Banna Village. “ Elephant Village “ which is small and peaceful village in the Province of Bolikhamxay. 82 Km down of Vientiane Capital on the road No. 13 South. Very easy to access. It is an ideal destination for one-day or multiple - day trekking tours into wildness elephant area. The elephant usually come in the early evening hours ( with no guarantee ) If you are lucky, you can see wild elephant. Try First, You never know any thing without trying. Good Luck might be yours.
Day 1. Vientiane - Banna Village
Morning Country Expedition Lao’s guide will welcome you bring you at your hotel. Then drive on the good road Number 13th South of south to Banna Village. (About 85 Km. 4 hours drive). Arrive Banna Village. Here, you are welcomed by local guide. He will give you the introduction about elephants watching regulations and rules. Then take a walking to Elephant Tower. (Walking through forest and rice field round trip takes about 4 hrs). On the way to Elephant Tower we explore the forest, rice field and sometime the might see elephants’ footprints. Arrive to Elephant Watching Tower. Lunch at Tower. Then waiting on Tower until Elephants coming. The elephants usually come out from the forest in afternoon with no guarantee.
Dinner and accommodation at Elephant Tower.
Day 2. Elephant Tower - Banna Village – Vientiane.
Breakfast at Elephant Tower then trek back to Banna Village. Arrive Banna Village at about noon. Lunch at Banna Village. P.M. visit Villager’s life and activities and learn how to make handicrafts from bamboo. (Basket, Sticky rice containers and others) with local people, Late after noon drive back to Vientiane.
